The difference between Thermal Power and Hydel Power is illustrated in the following table:

1. Thermal Power is generated by heating fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum and natural gases.

 

2. It is non-renewable source of energy.

 

3. Thermal power causes air pollution.

 

4. It is expensive.

1. Hydel Power is generated using the force of running or falling water.

 

2. It is renewable source of energy.

 

3. Hydel Power is pollution-free.

 

4. It is economical.
