Death of Mumtaz Mahal

Mughal Empress Mumtaz Mahal (earlier Arjumand Banu Begum) died on June 17, 1631.

The Taj Mahal at Agra which is built on the earthly remains of Mumtaj Mahal is the noblest monument of conjugal love and fidelity unique in the world. Mumtaz’s death was a blow from which Shah Jahan could not ever recover in his life time.
