Earth is a planet of the solar system. It is the abode of animals and plants.
Shape: It is a sphere with a bulge around the equator. The Equatorial diameter is around 43 kilometers more than the Polar diameter. Its two ends are the North and South Poles.
Motions: It has two motions:
1. The Diurnal (daily) motion or Rotatory motion: The earth spins its own axis causing the alternation of day and night, and
2. The annual (yearly) or the revolutionary motion: The earth moves round the sun, causing the change of seasons.
