A monsoon is wind that sweeps through a number of countries in Southern Asia (and among them India) and brings heavy rain with it. Monsoons are wind borne rains that last for several months. These months are known as the monsoon seasons.
So, we can see that the monsoon season in India is the season in which the monsoon arrives and brings rain to the country. The most significant monsoon in India is the summer monsoon which begins in the southwest in late May or in early June. The rains slowly start to sweep north and they will usually start to arrive in North India in October.
The monsoon season in India is very important for farmers as it provides crops with vital nutrients. In addition, monsoons alleviate long months of dry, dusty weather when the whole country seems to be longing for rain. Nevertheless, monsoons can be dangerous and the rushing waters can cause risks and damage to property.
