What is Non-Violence Day?

Category: Blog On December 10, 2017 By Various Contributors

The International Day of Non Violence, also sometimes known as non violence day, falls every year on the 2nd of October. This date was chosen because it was the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, a person who is well known for his non violent way of life.

Gandhi wrote extensively about the importance of non violence, and he also put his beliefs into action. Non violent civil action led by Gandhi, and non violent action inspired by him after his death, has brought about numerous benefits in the world, not least the crumbling of colonial rule in India and the birth of India as an independent nation.

Non violence day is officially promoted by the United Nations. It is something that everybody all over the world can participate in, however, Think about how to eliminate all violence from your life – not only on the 2nd of October but on every day throughout the year.
