An airplane is a machine that is based on the principles of aerodynamics to transport people between two destinations.
The plane idea is one of the most significant inventions of humanity. It enables us to fly in the sky – something that our ancestors could not have even imagined. The first airplane was called Wright Flyer, and it took its first flight on December 17, 1903.
Since that day, there has been an improvement, and lack of looking back, and the quality of airplanes has only improved.
Features of an airplane
- It can fly you from one place to another in no time.
- It can give you the feeling that you are flying like a bird.
- It makes reaching far-fetched and remote places
- It can also get used for delivering food or help during the times of calamities.
Modern Aeroplane
A modern airplane is a continuously evolving machine. Commonly it has a tube-like structure to carry passengers or cargo, called the fuselage. The very front of the plane or the nose is pointed to cut through the air quickly. The front part of the inside is called the cockpit from where the pilot uses the controls to take-off, fly and land the plane.
A normal plane has wing-like structures that are static but with tips that can move to maneuver the directions or resist the air.
Most airplanes have retractable wheels for the plane to taxi on the runway before take-off and after landing.
Commercial Aeroplanes
Commercial passenger airplanes are designed to accommodate a large number of people. There are two doors for entry to passengers. The seating area starts behind the cockpit. There could be one or two aisles between the seats of the passengers. With small windows to afford views once the plane is airborne. There are stewards and air-hostesses to assist people during the flights. The business class seating is premium and luxurious while the economy class has little comforts.
Military Aeroplanes
Transport personnel and supplies to various destinations whereas private airplanes owned by businessmen, politicians or companies ply on an as-needed basis.
Conclusion
The invention of airplanes has been the greatest gift to human beings. It has made our lives and traveling much more comfortable than before. We don’t have to take long road trips, trains or ships to reach our destination. These days airplanes are also used during wars, and there are many fighter planes that each government owns. So, apart from commercial use, there are also other uses of airplanes. However, to sum up, we can say that planes have made traveling around the world much easier and has given wings to humans!
