Category: Essays and Paragraphs On December 4, 2018 By Various Contributors

A father has an essential role in the upbringing of the child. He strives and works hard day and night to earn money and get comfort and luxury for his kid. Sometimes he may seem strict, but he loves his children and wants the best for them. .

To celebrate and show respect towards the unconditional love of a father or father-like figures, Father’s day is celebrated. This day is celebrated in June on the third Sunday in the USA and several other countries.

Thus, Father’s day is a day to appreciate the value of the presence of one’s father in one’s life. The usual gifts include watches, shirts, and pens.

The first person who suggested the idea of Father’s day celebration was Mrs. Sonara Dodd who initiated this wonderful celebration in the year 1909. In the USA the first Father’s day was celebrated on 19th of June 1910.

A father works hard to provide all the luxuries to his family and children. Fathers are very protective about their children and especially close to their daughters. A father is also a guide and mentor to his children making them aware of the rules of the world and yet giving them the freedom to take their decisions. A father is the pillar of strength in the family who drives the entire family towards its collective goals.

Conclusion

Father’s day is not yet as popular as Mother’s day yet but is heading there fast. People honor their fathers or other persons whom they consider as a father on this day. They show their respect by remembering the considerable contribution and impact that their father has made in their lives. It is celebrated in unique ways by different people. Some prefer to give gifts, cards, and flowers while others choose to spend this day with their fathers and make them feel special. Role of a father is often overlooked. However, we should understand their love and the efforts they put in our upbringing and try to return the love to them.
