Books are Our Best Friends. To qualify as a best friend, the person or thing has to be very special having one’s best interests in mind.
Books hold the key to knowledge of all kinds. As human beings we are always striving to grow. As our best friends would have our growth as a matter of interest, so do books. With the help of books, we can achieve as much knowledge as is available and grow as people.
A best friend is always there with you in times of need. So also a person can find solace in reading, books of self-help or spirituality.
Books are the place where one can juggle with a lot of emotions of happiness, surprise, adventure, love, adventure, all in the safety between the pages. One can go into these various emotions oneself to feel and experience them, talk to the characters and live the experiences described in the book. A friend also allows you the joy of talking about various emotions in the knowledge that there is no judgement there for you and that you are safe in expressing various emotions.
Books often put you face to face with your real self. You are able to see clearly what it is that really makes you. Awareness of the inner feelings however difficult they may be; is the first step towards change. Books can do that for you just like best friends.
Sometimes all you need is to be with your best friends and relax away from the difficulties of the real world. Books have the ability to take you away from the problems of the real world and help you relax and unwind, make you laugh and be silly.
Just like you can sit for hours and listen to the various adventures your best friend has gone through and derive immense pleasure out of that, you can sit with travelogues and other books that will take you through different adventures and travels to far of lands and give you happiness and pleasure of having experienced the stories.
Books are in many ways complete in themselves and a source of happiness and support, apart from the knowledge contained in them. That is why they are called your best friends.
