Meaning
Family values can mean two things. Family values can mean the values possessed by a typical, normal family. For e.g. the family values of the people of a country include a vegetarian diet lifestyle. This does not mean that every family has the same values. But rather that they are the predominant family values of a region or society. Family values can also mean values about having a family-based lifestyle. Generally speaking, family values are meant to highlight values that support and encourage the maintenance of the family structure as a base for any society.
Marriage: Traditionally, this was the commonest family value and was the basis of all family structure and social structure in all corners of the world. Even today in many sections of the global society, marriage forms the core of family values. By this we mean the legally and socially accepted union of two individuals, who come together in a legal and religious arrangement of a marriage.
Sharing: Though the external definitions of a family are evolving with times, the basic internal needs to form a family remain the same. Like minded individuals come together because they want to lead their life together in way and style that they like.
Family values form the basis of all societies across the world, even today.
