Short Speech on Earth

Category: Speech (English) On January 12, 2019 By Ananda

I am sure everyone present here has their own house, cars and other luxurious items. Have you guys ever noticed we have a common home too? Yes! I’m talking about our mother Earth. Good morning! Respected teachers and fellow students. Today I’m here to give a speech on “Earth”.

Earth is the only planet on which life exists. It is the third planet close to Earth after Mercury and Venus. It is also called blue planet. It’s distance from sun is 14.6 million km. It is covered with 74% of water and 26% of land. It has only one natural satellite which is moon.

Earth consists of 4 layer which is the crust ,the mantle, the inner core and the outer core. The crust is outer layer which consists different type of rocks. This is the layer on which human lives. Below the crust another layer which is known as the mantle. This is the largest layer consist of rocks or ice. Below mantle another layer consists of mostly nickel and iron is known as outer core. The inner most layer is called inner core which consists of nickel-iron and different alloys.

Earth is covered with different layer in atmosphere. In atmosphere we have four different layers which are troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere and thermosphere many different chemical and physical reaction take place which makes human survival possible. Humans are creating different items for making things simple and harming the planet by increasing pollution. It is also affecting human health. Disease like asthma are common now days. Life expectancy of human has also decreased.

Different types of pollution are affecting the environment in different ways and leading to rise in global warming. Considering Earth as our common home we all should take care of it. Little steps can make big difference. Let’s not harm our mother Earth and start bringing changes by recycling, afforestation and another little steps.

I would like to end up my speech with a request that we should stop avoiding things which harms our environment like avoiding use of plastic bags, not wasting electricity and so on. I hope my speech was helpful to make you realize that what is mother Earth for us and how are we harming her and indirectly ourselves too. If we’ll take care of our mother Earth then definitely we can also live a healthy life.

Thank you for giving your crucial time and hearing my speech
