Category: Speech (English) On January 12, 2019 By Ananda

Respected teachers and my dear students. Today the topic of my speech is Jawaharlal Nehru. He is a very famous man and doesn’t need any introduction. He was a very patriotic man. He is first in sacrificing all his life for his nation and making India a developed one. He is immortal due to his great work. This is the reason that people of every age read him still. He was among one of the great national Leader of India and the first Prime Minister of Independent India. Due to his tireless efforts, he is still alive in Hearts of Indian people.

Jawaharlal Nehru was born on November 14; 1889. In the struggle of freedom for India Nehru was a very prominent and a strong figure. He was ruling head of India from 1948 till 1964 when he died. He made India the most dominant republic, a renowned and democratic state. He is known by several names. He was born in the Kashmiri Pandit community so known as Pandit Nehru and Chacha Nehru as he loves children.

His father’s name is father Motilal Nehru and was a very active lawyer and a politician. Swaroop Rani Nehru is his mother. He did his graduation from Trinity College, Cambridge. He was trained as a barrister in the inner temple of India. After returning to India he started his practice at Allahabad High Court but later due to the active Political movement he left his legal practice.

His interest in politics was at a peak in the turmoil period of 1910. He was very famous in the Indian National Congress left wing and worked under the guidance of yet another famous Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi. With time the whole party was under his supervision and in 1939 he became the president of Indian National Congress.

He is known as the real promoter of peace in the Indian subcontinent and “Panchsheel” is its five important principles laid down by him. He spent his whole life for the wellbeing of his country and nation. Today, we all need a leader like him again so that crippled economy stand again on its feet.

I will end my speech with the most beautiful words “Bharat Mata ki Jai”!

Have a nice day!

Thanks!
