Plastic Pollution – Short Essay. 

When plastic pollution e.g. bottles accumulate in the environment, they have very adverse effects on all types of living organisms. Plants, animals and especially humans are affected to a serious extent. Plastics are inexpensive and long-lasting, as a result so many manufacturers use it for the production of their items.

Plastic is such a bad material and it affects our environment such as land, waterways, oceans, air, etc.

Marine animals are affected by the chemicals of plastic or ingest these harmful plastic. Both these cases are very fatal and it makes the pool or water body dirty. Moreover humans are also affected by the hormones mechanism.90% seabirds bodies have plastic debris. It is shown by the recent studies. According to a study by 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish.

Types of Plastic debris:

  1. Micro plastics: In southern Areas this type of debris is highest. It can be seen along the coastlines and water brings them up to the shore.
  2. Mega plastics: Primary or secondary debris is found in it.
  3. Macro plastics: It is normally referred when size of the plastic waste is >20nm. Plastic grocery bag is its perfect example. It’s found near and inside the ocean and have serious effect on the health of the organisms. Fishing nets contribute a major part. They tend to accumulate and grow in size.

Conclusion:

Plastic Pollution is a very serious issue and needs to be stopped. Other alternatives to plastic are paper bag. This is very environmental friendly and biodegradable. On the other hand plastic is a poison. We are unaware of it and our whole lives are spent by using it. Replace it and make your living good. Policies should be made to restrict its usage. Awareness campaigns should be made and walks should be organised for people and young generation. Everyone should take a step to control it.
