Throughout the year, the best week is definitely considered to be the Diwali week. Holidays, happiness, celebration, enjoyment totally make our holidays more amazing. Good morning respected teachers and dear students, today I am here to give a speech on the festival Diwali.
Everyone starts cleaning there home. Buying new thing, making everything new and clean. The excitement of Diwali can be seen everywhere since the market looks more colourful and bright. Temples get decorated.
Diwali is considered to be the festival of lights. Houses and shops are decorated with lights, candles and other decorative material.
Diwali is celebrated because Lord Rama came back to Ayodhya after 14 years. He came back after killing Ravan. This victory is considered as winning of good over evil. People of Ayodhya light up diyas in the happiness and celebrated the victory. People light up there places with diyas and candles.
This is the major festival of Hindus but no differentiation can be seen. Everyone comes together and celebrate the festival like a family. People worship the Goddess of prosperity which is Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha. People pray for prosperity and happiness. After praying and performing all the rituals. Gifts and sweets are shared with neighbours and relatives. Children firecrackers and celebrate happiness. Since the festival is of prosperity as well, many people believe that to not shut their shops and houses door.
At the last of my speech, I just want to say Diwali is my own personal favourite festival. Its joy and positivity make the surrounding more fun. We should try to enjoy the festival without firing the crackers. It affects the atmosphere, animals and the senior people. The festival should be a source of happiness. For our temporary happiness, we cannot put ourselves into permanent problems. Taking caring of our environment is more important. Firing crackers only affect the surrounding and waste money. We can instead of buying crackers, buy something useful and gift it to the poor people and bring a smile on their face.
Thank you! For hearing me and giving your crucial time.
