Moon is a space body and the moon orbits around the body. It’s the only satellite of the earth that is permanent.

Moon is the fifth largest natural satelite in the solar system. In the night it’s the largest and most bright object. It’s the reason that we can see on earth at night.

However, it takes on so many characteristics that it is almost impossible to shrug it off as something as impersonal as a satellite.

Moon to children

Moon is one of the biggest attractions to children in the sky. It is like a friend who watches over them in the night with its ever radiant light. There are many legends and stories to keep the children interested; the man in the moon, the rabbit in the moon and so on.

Moon to poets and lovers

The moon is a soothing and a beautiful sight hence often symbolizes love. Poets love to write about the moon and lovers love to sing to the moon or compare the beauty of the lady love to that of the moon.

Moon to astrologers

The moon and its phases of waxing and waning are of interest to the astrologers as they are assumed to affect the events and lives of people. A lot of festivals across the globe are based on some particular position of the moon, even the eclipses.

Moon and the folklore

There are innumerable folk tales and legends around the moon. As in India, China, and other places in the world, the moon is depicted as an important character in many stories and legends.

They are as old as 3 or 4 billion years old. Their nature is solid.

So it is found Moon is a huge part of our Solar System. It revolves around the earth in a centrifugal path. This is the gravitational force that keeps all the planets away from each other. Sun is Head of all. It has a special place, apart from the sun in people’s lives. It symbolizes coolness, friendliness and love as well.
