Category: Essays and Paragraphs On July 4, 2019 By Teamwork

Sports are commonly celebrated in almost all countries around the globe, but at different dates.

In India, the ‘The National Sports Day’ is held every year on 29th August every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand Singh.

On this day, most schools organize a sporting event. The celebrations are commonly started with a March past, paying respects to the head of the institute apart from the chief guest.

The usual events on a sports day are races of different kinds between the students, sometimes even teacher. If in an organization then employees participate in these races. Other activities are various drills, and other sports exhibited such as gymnastics.

The usual participants are the students of the school college. In a residential complex, a sports day is less formal with simple races between children in different age categories, women and the elderly apart from the men. There could also be various types of matches. Here it is more a social event.
