Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide campaign in India to remove open defecation and promote cleanliness and hygiene through the construction of household and public community toilets and through the proper way to monitor its use.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched on 2 October 2014. The volunteers to this campaign are known as Swachhagrahis to promote sanitation whereas other NGO’s also play their part to the mission of Swachh Bharat. The campaigns aim to remove defecation to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
This campaign has involved people from all areas to work on the same grounds as the ordinary citizen to create an atmosphere of humbleness and equality. This behavior has led to the evolution of a better, clean and sanitary environment that is a source of social and economic empowerment.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan reflects the resolve of the Indian Central Government to lead India on the path of a prosperous Global Economy. In the end, the campaign Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has to lead to a wave of awareness among the citizens of India and a sense of responsibility to work on hygiene mission.
