How many of us here fear injections? I believe that many of us in some point in time had to get an injection and have feared the doctor. Today, I am going to present to a speech on the nobility of the profession of a doctor.
Before I begin, I would like to extend my welcome to all the teachers and students gathered here. A doctor in India is considered close to God for the save lives on a daily basis.
The profession of a doctor is characterised as one that deals with the physical health and well-being of individuals. They are professionals who specialise in understanding the human body and working towards restoring the health and balance in our bodies. Our perception restricts use to view doctors from only the field of Allopathy. However, doctors also have different orientations such as Unani, Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Siddha. They specialise in caring for human health and may adopt various approaches in doing so.
The role of a doctor is one of immense responsibility. They have to make tough decisions within a matter of few minutes to save the lives of people. They are required to be highly cautious and responsible at their jobs because lives of many people and the well-being of even an entire family may depend on them. This makes their profession highly stressful and highly demanding. They have to work around the clock, irrespective of their personal priorities in addressing the needs of their patients. This is why doctors undergo rigorous training and selection process.
We as individual members of the society have to appreciate and acknowledge the roles that they play in society. The facts mentioned in the speech may seem obvious but the key message here is that we need to understand them for the difficult task that they perform in society and respect them for that by being understanding and thoughtful. Let us take a resolve to take care of our health as a way to give back to the doctors who care for us.
