The Raja Rammohan Roy National Education Resources Centre was set up in New Delhi in 1972 to “serve as an information centre to encourage Indian authorship and indigenous book production at university level and for the documentation and statistical analysis of the printed material imported from abroad so as to arrive at a meaningful import policy for book”.
It has a large collection of university level text books produced by Indian authors as well as subsidized editions of foreign text books brought out by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Government of UK, USA and the USSR.
