This short article contains information on India in World Heritage. The World Heritage Committee, constituted by the UNESCO under the provision of the International Convention for Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage, has recommend ended the inscription of 14 cultural monuments and five national sites from India in World Heritage list.
These are:
(a) Cultural Monuments in India such as – Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves, Agra Fort, Taj Mahal, and Sun Temple at Konark, Churches and Convents of Goa, Group of Monuments at Khajuraho, Mahabalipuram. Hampi, Fatehpur Sikri and Pattadakal, Elephanta Caves and Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur, Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi and
(b) Natural Sites in India such as - Kaziranga National Park, Manas Wildlife Sanctuary, Keoladeo National Park, Sunderbans National Park and Nanda Devi National Park.
